Improving care for older adults requires collaboration across all areas of medicine. This article highlights the 20-year impact of the Geriatrics-for-Specialists Initiative (GSI), a partnership between the American Geriatrics Society and The John A. Hartford Foundation that has advanced research, education, and leadership development among surgical and related medical specialists caring for older adults.
